'I have ridden several transalps with Vasasport (no competitions). I have also mountain biked in many places in the world, such as in the Ardennes, Sauerland, Pyrenees, Alps and South America. I also participated in various events in the Netherlands and drove all kinds of fixed routes. I am currently riding a 2019 Specialized Epic S-works.

Bike Cleaner originated from my own frustration. I live in IJsselstein, where there is no forest or trail for miles around. As a result, you always have to go somewhere by car to find a nice MTB route. Then you come back from the forest covered in mud and you find yourself with a dirty bike that has to be in or on the car. When you come home you want to shower, eat, relax and not clean your bike anymore! If you could do that immediately after the trip, you can rinse 95% of the dirt off and you only have to take care of the chain at home and you're done!

I know from mountain bikers around me that not being able to clean their bike on the spot is reason not to go. Shame, isn't it? For example, on Boxing Day 2020, I stood in front of Bergzicht in Woudenberg together with two good friends after a pretty muddy MTB tour and I shouted: why isn't there a bicycle washing place here to spray our mountain bikes?! Then my entrepreneurial spirit started working overtime and the idea was born. I had thought up the concept for a few days and on March 15th the first test copy of Bike Cleaner was at Steakhouse Amadeus in Ede!'
